Spiritual Warfare: Part 3

Now this devotion is entitled Spiritual Warfare, so how do we deal with evil spirits, evil muses, evil inspirations and evil supernatural created beings?

When we last talked I mentioned human spirits. Remember, I said that each of you are spirits living in a mortal body and your body has a mind that should be controlled by you, the human spirit.  You also remember that Webster defines Daemons as the evil spirits of traditional Jewish and Christian belief. So can a human who does things that are considered evil in the traditional Jewish and Christian belief be an evil spirit or a Daemon? 

Most people think that Daemons are only evil supernatural created beings. But let me ask you this.  What is fallen man?  Again we should go to the Holy Bible for answers.

John 3: 19-20 says, “And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.  For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.”

Micah 2:1 says, “Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds!  When the morning is light, they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand.”

Most people do evil deeds and nearly everyone thinks evil thoughts every now and then.

This must mean that the nature created beings are just as capable of being evil as are the evil supernatural created beings.

  

So how do we deal with evil spirits, evil muses, evil inspirations and evil supernatural created beings?

Some of the best ways to warfare against evil spirits, evil muses and evil inspirations of the human species is found in 2 Corinthians 10: 3-6.

³For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

⁴ (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

⁵ Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

⁶ And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Now how much of those scriptures are describing the human spirit and thought and actions?

Some of the best ways to warfare against evil supernatural created beings is found in Ephesians 6.

¹⁰ Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

¹¹ Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

¹² For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

¹³ Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

In our next devotion we will discover the weapons the God has given us to use against evil spirits, evil muses, evil inspirations and evil supernatural created beings.

Most Precious Father,

            Help me to a good follower of Jesus Christ and forgive me for the evil I have thought.  Fill me with your Holy Spirit.
