Prepping for Persecution: “Peter Confesses Jesus as the Christ"
Matthew 16:13 Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” 14 And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16Simon Peter replied, "You are the Christ, the Son of d the living God.” 17And Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father in Heaven!"
Knowing Who Jesus is when facing persecution is critical to your victory! "All they that would live godly shall suffer persecution." 2 Tim. 3. Study the following, they will help you PREP for the storms of persecution.
1st Prep Imperative: Revelation: God revealed to Peter Who Jesus was! Can I define a moment in my life where God drew me to Him, revealed Himself and my need, and I believed on Him as my Savior? Am I sure of Him that He is and will be all He promises?
2nd Prep: Relation
Peter spoke what was in his heart. Am I committed to Him? From the abundance of our heart our mouth speaks! Will you declare Him to be all He is when persecution comes?
3rd PREP: Resolve: What am I willing to endure for my faith in Him? The time to decide is before the storm comes! If He is Who He is then I believe He is worth the storm!
